Moving to Singapore at a young age inspired a life of travel which led Amber to Central America, Europe, and eventually Canada where the west coast captured her heart and she decided to settle. Her experience living around the world shaped her view of art and design and their relationship to culture and community. These experiences cemented love for contemporary elegance, providing the backdrop for her refined design sensibility. Amber has previously worked as a fine art consultant. The experience allowed Amber to create the perfect setting to showcase the clients existing art collection, so she is also able to assist in selecting meaningful works of art to enhance your collection and compliment your homes new interior. Amber moved to Salt Spring Island full time in the summer of 2019 to found AJD and undertake the building of her own home with her partner. This can be an important step to having your home feel coordinated. The selection of furnishings, art and decor is often carried out while we in the design development phase. The proportions, materials and scale of the furnishings are defined with the use of imagery and furniture plans. Upholstery, fabrics, drapery and window coverings are also selected. I am happy to design wit your existing furniture in mind. When the design has been approved, the furnishings are sourced and you are provided with quotes. With years my experience over the years I have connections with a selection of trusted furniture suppliers, galleries and artists, ensuring you get the very best selection for your space. Once all is approved, I move on to ordering and coordinating all the deliveries. From large furniture pieces and installation of window treatments, right down to the arrangement of styling details.
